Moving Restrictions and Speed Limit Survey for Kent County Council
Buchanan Order Management is undertaking the first stage of a county-wide review of Kent’s Moving and Speed Limit Restrictions in a project that will fully digitize these TROs on ParkMap 7.
BOM’s survey team have deployed to Kent, to map all of the moving restrictions across the districts of Maidstone, Ashford, Tunbridge Wells and Folkestone & Hythe. Once completed, this first stage of the county-wide project will give Kent County Council a complete record of their Moving and Speed Limit restrictions for over 45% of the county. BOM will then use KCC’s populated ParkMap system to create new sets of Map-based Traffic Regulation Orders for the four districts.
This process will help establish clearer communication of Kent’s restrictions to the public, but will also increase the efficiency of KCC managing their Moving Traffic Orders. This TRO digitisation project will also help to future-proof Kent, against the backdrop of the DfT’s on-going TRO Discovery Project and an increased desire for the ability to provide accurate geo-located TRO data for autonomous vehicles.
